Why is it that when one is finally ready for a move to the next level of something, whether it's work or relationships or life or whatever, there is always something blocking your way. And whenever one is far from ready to move on, something forces them to anyway. I have been ready for a life in business world, on my own, for the past few years, and now that it's actually time to join the business world, the business world itself won't let me join! I keep waiting to hear back from this internship, which I really want and am fully qualified for, and I found out that this job will eventually lead to a full-time position. But I honestly have no idea whether or not I'll get it.

My main goal right now is to get out of my parents' house. I want a place of my own desperately. Do you know, dear reader, how hard it is to go from living on your own throughout college, to being forced to move back into your old bedroom? It is unbearably hard. My parents still think they can dictate my behavior and choices in all areas of my life. They don't understand that I am a fully grown adult. I know how juvenile it sounds "I'm a grown-up now!" but there is no other way to say it. You can't tell me where to apply for jobs, where to go to church, when to go to bed, when to get up, where I can go and when. Those decisions are now up to me, and me alone.

One of the annoying things about being at home is my job search. I am doing the best I can in this climate. I get on job search websites at least once every few days and look at posting after posting. I apply for any job that I qualify for (even if I don't really want it specifically) and even those I don't. And just because I don't tell my parents everytime I do this (for, dear reader, that would be quite grating for both parties involved) they simply assume that I'm not doing it at all. Which means that they seek out positions for me, most of which I've already heard about and applied for. It's like they don't have faith in me to do it on my own. I can do it on my own!

They honestly make me feel so childish and immature. I can't stay in this house forever. I can't keep working part-time jobs forever. What am I going to do?

As you can tell, this is one of those depressingly sad days where things hit me all at once. I'm sick of life right now. It'd be nice if I could trade mine in for a new one.

So, to cheer myself up, I'm going to watch many, many episodes of Alias, one of the best shows ever created, and dry my tears and stuff my face with gobs and gobs of chocolate.

Lord, please hear my prayer. Please, dear, dear Lord, help me get this internship. If it's not what you want me to do, help me find what it is. But if this is what you want me to do, please let me get it.
